Not properly working since some days

Recommended Posts

Hi !
I'm running Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS and Eddie 2.20.0 and have trouble since few days. It's very slow and most of my downloads failed.
It's the same matter under Android tablet.
When I don't use the VPN everything works well ...
Somebody has met the same trouble and found why ? An idea ?
Thanks

Connect and download something. When it fails, click the lifebelt icon in Eddie's Logs tab and paste/upload the result here. Thanks.

Okay, but did I ask for the log? Or did I ask for a support file viewable by clicking on the life belt icon next to it (in which the log is embedded, too)?

Thank you. There's simply more info in a support file to work with. :)
Now, a couple of things come to mind. Can you check

  1. UDP any port, IPv4 only?
  2. TCP any port? OpenVPN over SSL?
  3. Ethernet if possible? Noteworthy is that the wireless interface is state DORMANT/LOWER_UP. Could be TLP energy saving from the kernel, thinking tun0 is the main interface, so decreasing energy on wlo1. But that's not knowledge, it's assumption.
Is there a particular time when this happens or strictly as soon as the VPN is up?

Hi !
I'm sorry but I'm using the default settings. You ask me questions and I don't have the answers ... If you could help me just saying me what's wrong and what exactly I have to do it could help me a lot.
Thanks

If you could help everyone just trying what I asked you to try and communicate what exactly the results of those tries are it could help us on the other hand. And I asked you to try different connection settings to help narrow down the problem. You can change these settings in Eddie Preferences > Protocols.

I'm sorry to bother you again but 1) the protocols settings are in automatic mode 2) when I turn it on manual mode it's just impossible to modify anything in this window ...

Really? That's unusual. You could try again while not connected.

Yes really. I try it when not connected and I can't modify anything in the Protocols's tab. Thats'it ...
Am I the only one with trouble under Ubuntu ?

Certainly not. But seems like the first with this issue.
Try renaming the default.profile file in ~/.config/eddie/ and start Eddie again. After that, can you still not change the port?

Left click the protocol you want.  Then click the save button.  Restart Eddie.  If you need to scroll down the protocols list, hold down the left mouse button and drag the slider (on the right side of your snapshot) down.

That should work unless Eddie is frozen and unresponsive.

Not of the 2 solutions works ... I think there's somewhere a file configuration with a matter but this is not the default.profile in the ~/.config/eddie/ because whatever the version of Eddie used (2.18 2.19 or 2.20) that's the same result. They kept somewhere informations (as login and preferences) even after a purge and don't know where ...

Nope, all this info is in default.profile. Which Mono version are you running?

$ mono --version

Wait… by "can't modify anything" did you mean you can't select anything? Or are you expecting to change something in that list?
