Is this a type of DNS leak?

Recommended Posts

Is it normal for the main server to be in one country and the rest in another country? I am using AirVPN on an Asus router. Through Eddie they are both from the same country. Is this a type of DNS leak? How to fix it?

If you're redacting all IP addresses, it's difficult to answer your question. In general, the only DNS server should be the same as your IP address if you're connected. It's likely you're leaking.

Asus router + Quad9 DNS (is this the reason DNS Addresses are in United States?)

How to make the router behave the same as the Eddie client? Is it possible?

Yes it's possible.
What did you flash it with?

@Flxwell, I think it's more easy to use a Switzerland ISP 😂.
I didn't flash the ASUS RT-AC86U router. I'm using a beta Asus firmware. What do you suggest?

Update: now I have Merlin firmware. What configuration do you suggest to make the router the same as Eddie?
Update 2: error.

Yup it would be. :)
On what I can suggest to you to fix it there are a few, but I'd rather let someone else help you
Merlin-wise.

I changed Username/Password Authentication to "No" and actived IPV6. Now it's connect, but my IP Address leaks. No DNS leaks.

Update: Solved. Now, it's okay after I changed Username/Password Authentication to "Yes", but Username / Password Auth. Only to "No".
Update 2: Force Internet traffic through tunnel "No". After, I was trying to use "killswitch" (Block routed clients if tunnel goes down, in Police Rules).
