Basic Noob question

So basically my question is: How does Air VPN work? Is it just a program that I'll download and run on my computer, and then my computer connects to the internet through AirVPN? I want to use it with BitTorrent, and I don't want it to impact other computers in my house or my IP address, etc.

I just want to know, in very basic terms, how it will function.
