Recent Increase in Ping Times Within China

Up until last week, I was able to ping the Japanese servers and return around 80ms. Now the ping is around 240 - 50ms. 

I suspect it must be to do with changes on the ISP side but I'm curious if anyone else has noticed any similar performance hits within China?

Is there anything I can do to improve things?

I'm observing similar issues in S. Korea. For the past 4 or 5 days, Japan servers have been pinging at 180-190 ms; Singapore servers at 200-230 ms.

Found this from another VPN provider dated August 21: "M247 - Japan, The network there is having sporadic packet loss, this causes poor speeds and many disconnections, M247 has been notified and they are looking into it, for now we recommend that you use another location than Japan."  The high ping, latency, and bottleneck issues I have been experiencing lately wouldn't happen to be affecting AirVPN's M247 servers located there, too?
