How to access home network while using TomatoRouter w AirVPN

Newbie here. I apologise is this is a dumb question but I'm not able to find the answer myself perhaps because I don't understand all the terminology. I am using a TomatoRouter. I have VPN setup so that I can access my home network while away from home. I also just setup the AirVPN client side on the router as well. However when I am connected to the the AirVPN I am unable to connect remote to my home network. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction as to what is needed so that I can have both running at the same time and still be able to connect to the home network? Thanks in advance.
