misam 9 Posted ... I have a problem with hummingbird on Fedora33, again. I have got a power down (desktop) while humminbirg connection was on. Now I have no way to restore any connection. --recover-network returns Hummingbird - AirVPN OpenVPN 3 Client 1.1.0 - 23 June 2020 It seems this program has properly exited in its last run and it has already restored network settings on exit. ERROR: Backup copy of resolv.conf not found. ERROR: Backup copy of network filter not found. Also, I do not see any lock file in etc/airvpn (this is correct, though because my internet connection without VPN is active and working). So basically I have no way to use hummingbird, any longer. If deletion is necessary, before you delete please let us know the directory content: ls -l /etc/airvpn Finally: sudo rm etc/airvpn/hummigbird.lock /etc/airvpn/resolv.conf.airvpnbackup /etc/airvpn/systemdns.airvpnbackup Then start Hummingbird and check whether everything is fine again. Configuring Bluetit to connect during system bootstrap is a straightforward, very simple procedure, Furthermore, you will run a real daemon, and not a user process, therefore you have a higher security level. Info: I'm noticing a similar issue to Maggie144, using Hummingbird with Eddie on macOS. In my case the connection is indeed disturbed - it happened while I was on a video call, the call would freeze for a couple seconds and then hundreds of "no buffer space available" messages would appear. Then it happened again just once today after I opened a torrent app. I'm attaching the last 1000 lines of the Eddie log in case that helps. No news, we're sorry, but let's evaluate whether the default buffer size of the UDP/IP stack is insufficient for OpenVPN3-AirVPN needs. Can you please give us the output (from a terminal) of the command: sysctl kern.ipc.maxsockbuf It will show the buffer size in bytes. We would like to compare it with our systems (Big Sur and Catalina, M1 and x86-64) where the problem doesn't occur, and check whether increasing the buffer mitigates it. My full specs are: MacBook Air M1 / Apple Silicone, macOS Monterey 12.1; Hummingbird 1.1.2, OpenVPN Config File with AES Cipher. I have seen this on both UDP (and I think more rarely) on TCP connections too. As mentioned before (and from others users), it seems like it happens randomly. I only get it on some days, sometimes more often, sometimes not at all. Maybe the 8MB threshold is reached after a certain amount of connections (within a single macOS session before reboot) and then this error/warning is thrown. On some days I reconnect >15 times to get a new Outbound IP. Happy to increase the 8MB default value and monitor if this will mitigate it. Any idea what could cause this "overflow" of the 8MB? If i run normally, it says to run with `--recover-network`; if i run with `--recover-network`, it says everything is good to go. I've tried removing the lock file, to no effect. Not sure how to find logs, but in the attached screenshot you can see the results. Is there some other step to recover? By increasing mbuf clusters through setting ncl boot argument via nvram, you will be able to increase kern.ipc.maxsockbuf value after the bootstrap. So, if you need more buffer room to avoid the mentioned errors, you can have it. Maximum software buffer in bytes should be ~ (1/16) * ncl (each cluster is 2048 bytes).
