Hi!

I 'm using the Air Eddie client for Win7 Portable and when i try to connect to a server, there comes a selection window with a choice of 3 possible selections home network public and or LAN or something like that, which of the 3 should I take best as a Win7 user? Use this Eddie client for the first time ...

I think you mean that choice between "Home network", "Company network" or "Public". To my knowledge home and company is practically the same – it makes Windows find other devices which are sharing things over certain protocols (NetBIOS and SMB, in particular) in that network and be found by other devices. Technically it opens certain ports for others to ping and connect to while pinging and connecting to the same ports on other hosts in the network. If you pick Public, this behavior is turned off. That's all there is to it.

It is important to note that this does not mean they are opened to the internet. This must be done on the router or, in case of AirVPN, via port forwarding; though I consider opening SMB shares to the internet quite suicidal. :D If you get asked this when you connect to AirVPN, "Public" would probably be best.
