KalahariCry 1 Posted ... I am using Unraid server with delugevpn docker. I noticed all of a sudden I couldn't access my deluge webgui and after a bit of troubleshooting determined that if I disabled Airvpn I could reach the webgui. Logged into airvpn and noticed that the server I connect to was down for maintenance. I want to create a new ovpn conf file but am wondering if there's a benefit to selecting a country rather than a single server? I selected a country and all is working fine now but just wondering if that might be slower or cause other issues rather than just selecting an individual server...? OpenSourcerer 1450 Posted ... You don't even need to regenerate the whole config. Just change the remote directive in the file and you're good to go. There are a number of ways to determine what to change there. The FAQ entry "How can I get VPN servers' entry IP addresses?" gives some ideas. 13 hours ago, daniel.bmyer@gmail.com said: if there's a benefit to selecting a country rather than a single server? Well, for starters, it would avoid your current situation. The country code DNS addresses always resolve to the current best server in that country in terms of latency/packet loss statistics, load and user count. This means, servers with line problems or in maintenance are exempt. Downside is, your exit IP will change if you happen to connect to a different server, so if you rely on being able to connect from the outside (and you previously used an IP address), better use the DDNS feature.
