Problems installing on Linux Mint 19

Recommended Posts

Hello all, currently I am getting an error installing the linux package, 64 bit, ubuntu, .deb file on Linux Mint 19, with the error:
Failed to fetch http://packages.linuxmint.com/pool/upstream/liba/libappindicator/libappindicator1_12.10.1+18.04.20180322.1-1mint1+tricia_amd64.deb 404
Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

Does it work outside the VPN?

Four simple things:
There's a guide to AirVPN. Before you ask questions, take 30 minutes of your time to go through it.

Amazon IPs are not dangerous here. It's the fallback DNS.
Running TOR exits is discouraged. They're subject to restrictions on the internet and harm all AirVPN users.

Furthermore, I propose that your paranoia is to be destroyed. If you overdo privacy, you'll be unique among the mass again.

On my Mint 19.3, 'apt policy libappindicator1' shows :

"Installed: 12.10.1+18.04.20180322.1-1mint2"

so maybe try mint2 instead of mint1.

Any instructions on how to get this package installed? I'd like to get the vpn up and running.

In a terminal a run  apt install libappindicator1  enter your user password if asked. Then try and install the .deb again.

Have you thought of using the PPA? Installing via a PPA will resolve all your dependencies and notify you of any updates in the future. I use the PPA and have the 'testing' version running.

If you want the package in a specific version, provided your configured repositories actually have this version, navigate to where you want the deb to be saved and issue:

apt-get download libappindicator1=12.10.1+18.04.20180322.1-1mint2
