port 89 open

Did a quick shieldsup scan and found port 88 (kerberos) was closed and port 89 (su-mit-tg) was open this appears to be on all servers I tested.

Can anybody shed any light on this behavior?

Interesting. I just tested this and found this to be true on 3 servers I just tested. I'm wondering why port 89 is open, as when I searched su-mit-tg on google it appears to be something that hasn't been in use for over 10 years

A service of ours listens to port 89 for internal communications in the infrastructure. Moving thread to "off-topic".
