Creating Battle.net client exception

Recommended Posts

Hello 🙂
I've been using Airvpn for many years now and want to fix a bug that causes the battle.net client to freeze constantly when using proxies. (https://www.blizzard.com/en-us/apps/battle.net/desktop)

From Blizzards website I found out that the client uses these ports.
Blizzard Battle.net desktop app
TCP Ports:
80, 443, 1119
UDP Ports: 80, 443, 1119

I'm not very tech-savvy so I wanted to ask you guys before I mess up the proxy security. Is there any way to let the client bypass the AirVPN proxy while having "Network Lock" enabled in Eddie and without worsening security in other software?

Thanks for the help~

Nothing can be done. You can only open ports starting with 1024, and 1119 is likely forwarded already. If you can, there's always the possibility to forward three random ports to local 80, 443 and 1119, respectively, although those coming from the outside must use these random ports.

There is if battle.net was reachable by one or a handful of fixed IPs. As this is a worldwide thing, I suspect it has many more, maybe even rotated for load balancing purposes. It's likely you will end up adding more and more IPs to the outside-tunnel list in Eddie which will get cumbersome after some time. So it's possible but a bit difficult.

Four simple things:
There's a guide to AirVPN. Before you ask questions, take 30 minutes of your time to go through it.

Amazon IPs are not dangerous here. It's the fallback DNS.
Running TOR exits is discouraged. They're subject to restrictions on the internet and harm all AirVPN users.

Furthermore, I propose that your paranoia is to be destroyed. If you overdo privacy, you'll be unique among the mass again.
