Regularly getting disconnected

Recommended Posts

Hello, everybody.

I have a problem which really starts to stress me out. I read through the forum and saw that people have the same issue, but no cure, at least no definite one.

I keep disconnecting from the client regularly, after which it says "Authorization failed. Maybe you are connected from another machine" or "Unable to connect to server". Than I have to wait 3, or more, minutes and connect again, but the connection doesn't last long, 60 minutes tops!!

I already looked through the forum and into a lot of things which might be the problem, but everything I do turns out not to be connected to this issue (i.e. torrent client, router, tap32, changin servers, using openvpn gui...) The only thing I noticed is whenever I got disconnected from the airVPN, my ISP gave me a new dynamic IP. Now I've been wondering if that might be the case and if there's a solution for this.

Just in case I provide my logs:

The only thing I noticed is whenever I got disconnected from the airVPN, my ISP gave me a new dynamic IP.

Sounds like that's the problem right there. Whenever your ISP assigns you a new IP address, any connections that were already established on your old IP address (including your VPN connection) will get dropped. I don't know why your IP address would be changing so often though, unless you're experiencing intermittent service outages from your ISP, or some other network connectivity issue.

Hello!

It means that you lose connectivity with your ISP each time. Therefore ALL the established connections will be lost (not only OpenVPN ones). Please contact your ISP customer service, we really can't do anything about it.

Kind regards

Hello again,

It looks like my ISP is not giving me new IPs every 30 minutes, but I somehow inadvertently caused it, BTW I still don't know what it is, because without VPN I have the same IP until I restart my PC

I just wanted to let you all know that I stripped the problem down to:

Replay-window backtrack occurred

[server] Inactivity timeout (--ping-restart), restarting

TCP/UDP: Closing socket

and that I tried a different approach, using only TCP on 443 and I have to say that it is much better now. It only disconnected me once in 6 hours.

Do you maybe have any other suggestions?

My trial period ends soon and your service is by far one of the best - good servers, support, cheap prices and you tell people what they want to know.

I hope it stays stable now so that I become a long term customer

Thx in advance
