I recommend updating the Chrome OS page

Recommended Posts

These instructions are (sort of) out of date.

https://airvpn.org/chromeos/

I bought a new Chromebook that supports Android / Google Play apps out of the box.  I am happy to report that the Android Eddie client, installed through the play store on my Chromebook, encrypted my connection and things like torrents and ipleak.net showed the Airvpn exit IP's that I expected.  This did not only encrypt traffic for Android apps, as I used ipleak.net from the native ChromeOS browser.

The native ChromeOS taskbar has a VPN toggle that lists installed VPN options.  Eddie's Android client shows up in the list as expected.

For older Chromebooks that don't support the Play Store, the existing recommendation at that link is good.   Maybe call them legacy instructions for old Chromebooks, or Chromebooks with the Play store disabled?

Cheers,

Ryan

PS. One oddity I noticed is that enabling Airvpn from the Android client completely disabled internet access for any Linux apps.

I'm not too worried, as the Linux support is new and still labelled as beta.
