Solved : Network Secruity Policy no longer working

Recommended Posts

Hi all.So I've been using the comodo firewall setup as detailed here https://airvpn.org/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=3&id=1713&Itemid=142 to stop uttorent from accessing the internet when air vpn goes down/disconected.It has been working fine but yesterday I checked it by disconnecting from the vpn and uttorent still was allowed access to the internet.I've checked the settings over and over and even deleted the rule and started from scratch but still no luck.I'm not sure whats changed if any thing but it's got me beat. Thanks in advance.

I've think I got it sorted.Utorrent had "allow all requests" as well as the rule to stop non vpn traffic as per the other post.I must have mucked around with it.Any way I deleted that rule and after running utorrent and comodo asking do you want to allow this program access blah blah it now says " allow IP from Mac any to Mac any where protocol is any" I've checked a number of times and all seems well. Can someone confirm I have this setup right .Thanks

screen shot of settings might help

Here's the screens of the settings that now seem to be working. Before screenshot 1 would have read allow all requests. That was the mistake right?

Looks good.

You've set up uTorrent to be able to receive incoming connections, and it can only initiate outgoing traffic if it uses the VPN (source address of 10.x.x.x)

If you want to tighten up the rules a bit, you can specify the forwarded port you chose and TCP&UDP incoming only for the allow rule - instead of allowing uTorrent to receive everything.
