Hello

I'm a satisfied customer of AirVPN for a couple years. Everything was working fine.

But starting last week, I cannot launch the Eddie software anymore , I suspect some Windows .Net update stuff to mess with this ?

Any clues on how to fix this ?
I tried reinstalling current version, reverting to some of the previous ones (2.13, 2.14) without success.

For the time being I can use OpenVPN with a profile created in the config generator, so no real loss of service, but your app is more useful for me.
I will eventually make a clean install one of these weeks, but don't have time now.

(Hope I'm posting on the right place ?)

Thanks for your time, happy holydays !

Hello!

Which version of Eddie was it that stopped working and have you tried the experimental client?

You could also try resetting Windows Firewall to its default state.

It was the latest I think : 2.16.3

I see a 2.17 in the changelog, is it the experimental version ?

I'm pretty sure Eddie is not in fault, knowing Windows

Ok I can't even reset the settings, my firewall must be altered ? I'll check this. Thank you.

Yes that's the current experimental .

If you used Network Lock then the firewall rules will have changed. But you should still be able to reset them in Windows.

We can agree on Windows, haha.

Just a heads up, I'll have to format Windows

Spent a couple hours searching, I have no idea what went wrong, but a bunch of system services are going mad (nothing suspicious found with either my regular Eset or Malewarebytes)

To sum up :

-Eddie seems to rely on WFP service (firewall basically)

-Firewall is disabled (my guess it's because Eset suite took its place)
-Can't reset it (error while trying or even starting the service)

-Also requires BFE to be started, can't launch it as well
-tried a few registry things, no luck.

For now VPN works, I'm safe, I'll have to make a proper setup (more than two years, getting messier now )

Case.. closed dismissed
