Eddie forcing an unknown DNS in TAP

I always had 10.4.0.1 as the TAP Adapter DNS but AIRVPN is forcing it to 10.xx.xxx.1 every time it connects.

 

I have never seen this DNS using AIRVPN before.

 

Am I missing something obvous ?

Hello!

 

Air VPN DNS servers IP addresses match the VPN default gateway IP address.

 

10.4.0.1 is anyway reachable from any other VPN subnet for backward compatibility.

 

Having DNS address matching with default gateway address will make "DNS poisoning through route injection" attacks totally ineffective.
