asdq70 0 Posted ... Hi, Besides a DD-WRT router acting as my openvpn client to AirVPN, I am running pihole on a raspberrypi, which acts both as local DHCP and DNS server. The later is done by pihole, which simply removes some ads. I have defined 10.4.0.1 as external DNS server in pihole and this is working fine. But due to this setup, I cannot rely on the DNS server push from AirVPN when I am connecting via openvpn. With "gen 2", IP6 and all, can I rely on 10.4.0.1 as "hard coded" DNS server in the future? It is no longer reachable via ping but DNS resolving works. Thanks for any input Quote Share this post Link to post
OpenSourcerer 1435 Posted ... 10.4.0.1 is reachable from all subnets in the VPN network. So it's a reliable address. In fact, I've been using static 10.4.0.1 for some years now and for 1.5 years I've been connecting to different ports as well (which affects the subnet). 1 Aman Dagon reacted to this Quote Hide OpenSourcerer's signature Hide all signatures NOT AN AIRVPN TEAM MEMBER.
