Checking route IPv4 failed

I have had AirVPN for a couple of years now. Once I've set it up it's generally connected fine with little to no issues. Recently though I am unable to connect or when it does finally connect I can't access any website. I'm sure this is DNS but can't understand why it just started to happen.

 

I normally connect using SSH and alternate the port depending if I get slow results. I use Activation lock.

 

  • Ethernet Interface is configured with static LAN IP
  • VPN Interface has obtain IP and DNS automatically
  • VPN Interface has media status set to Always Connected

These are concerning - can you detail perhaps what Eddie version you're using and what settings you've got? Such as the networking tab, maybe try disabling DNS -> 'check AirVPN DNS' and 'ensure DNS lock', also advanced -> check tunnel works uncheck and see if that has any effect (I can imagine it'd 'connect you' but then IPv4 would still fail).

Which one are you using? 2.16.3 should be the current version. Im not sure if it works any better, its the Experimental version 2.17.2 I think were all running that has the issues. The experimental one works, you just have to restart it a couple times before it does, at least on MacOS. Lately what Ive been doing if I have to restart Eddie (or I reboot), I wait for the server list to populate the latency and bandwidth stats and all that. Then I refresh it and wait for it all to update again. Seems to work for the most part every time if I wait. I do still hit the Checking IPv4 message still though so its not fixed but maybe just waiting is the key. Could be something takes a bit longer in the beta version? Who knows. At least we know now what's going on with the new client sort of heh. The dev finally posted in the Eddie forum about it.
