DNS check failing for Vancouver servers

Hello,

For the last two months - trying to get a connection to a Vancouver server for me has be dismal. I am always getting DNS Check Failes - (red x). Other servers work fine.

They may take some time but they work. Van has the best latency for me - so my games are better.

Going to other countries that are non English are brutal for regular surfing because I don't read Dutch! But those servers log me in.

I have rebooted, unplugged the router and modem, power them them back up. I see the client doing the DNS flush...

Suggestions?

Although I have not tried connecting to other country servers (I, like you, use Vancouver servers), as I posted in my "unable to load PF firewall" topic, "checking DNS" fails, usually several times before finally connecting. This has happened since updating to the latest Eddie. I'm on iMac running 10.11.6. All my options were basically left as is except selecting "network lock" once I figured out what it did. Network lock, however, is also causing the "unable to load PF firewall" notification when starting Eddie. Here is the log from my topic showing "checking DNS" fails. Network lock was not enabled for this log.

Hello,

For the last two months - trying to get a connection to a Vancouver server for me has be dismal. I am always getting DNS Check Failes - (red x). Other servers work fine.
They may take some time but they work. Van has the best latency for me - so my games are better.
Going to other countries that are non English are brutal for regular surfing because I don't read Dutch! But those servers log me in.

I have rebooted, unplugged the router and modem, power them them back up. I see the client doing the DNS flush...

Suggestions?

Just to confirm, my "Checking DNS" and "unable to load PF firewall" problems are happening when I actually launch Eddie. Once I am connected, I don't seem to have the same problem. Here is my log switching from Vancouver server to USA server and then back to Vancouver server":

Just an update on this. Decided to switch to a US server. Cleared my log. Checked the option to "Reconnect to last server at start". Quit Eddie. Restarted Eddie. Still got my "unable to start PF firewall" notice, but no DNS problem. Connected to the server right away. Latest log:

Can confirm this is also the case for me. I get "disconnecting" after checking route and DNS. I'm not sure when this started but has been 1-2 months.

Rebooting my computer and router seems to have fixed this problem for me. However, "unable to load PF firewall" notification, with "network lock" on, not fixed.

Did you try shutting down your computer and router? All I can say is, after doing that, I connected to Mimosa on first try after the reboot. I suppose that does not necessarily mean the problem is gone. It could be that Mimosa is fine but other Vancouver servers are not. I would have to try over several days, to shut Eddie down and restart and hopefully connect, or try and connect, to a different Vancouver server each time. If you have not shut down your computer and router, give it a try.

Yup, shut the computer, router and modem. Still having the same issue. Even today it did not work. Homan is a no go. But Toronto connects in in a hurry.....weird.

Maybe give it a few days?

Just updating this continuing problem. Shut down and restarted Eddie on iMac running 10.11.6 El Capitan. Took 3 tries before connecting to a Vancouver server. On the 3rd try it connected to the same server I had been on when I shut Eddie down. Here's my latest log:

And on my Macbook Pro running Sierra, no problem connecting but then I was disconnected and connected to a different server. Here's the log for that:

Just updating this continuing problem. Shut down and restarted Eddie on iMac running 10.11.6 El Capitan. Took 3 tries before connecting to a Vancouver server. On the 3rd try it connected to the same server I had been on when I shut Eddie down. Here's my latest log:

Anyway Eddie 2.10.3 is more than two years old and is not fully compatible with Wndows 10 and macOS Sierra/High Sierra, not to mention an important amount of bug fixes and improved features since then. An upgrade is recommended. See the changelog here:
