Note that time to repair is being stated as October. Why typhoons can damage undersea cables is a mystery to me.

This has led to some unusual routing and latencies. My usual route Brisbane-Sydney-Perth-Singapore is now Brisbane-Sydney-HongKong-Singapore, and about 100ms slower. Using a HK Air server, the routing is Brisbane-Sydney-California-HongKong, so US servers are lower latency.

 

Not an Air problem, but users in S/SE/E Asia/Australia/NZ should be aware if noticeably affected.
