That One Privacy Site VPN Comparison: Questions about AirVPN

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I just was reviewing the chart on https://thatoneprivacysite.net/vpn-comparison-chart/ and there were some things listed for AirVPN that concerned me, and I just want an open, honest discussion about them:

1.) AirVPN is based in what is considered a "fourteen eyes" country. Should that be of concern for users? Is AirVPN required, by law, to keep certain information about its users, systems, or traffic?

2.) It says IPv6 Leak Protection is not supported. Is that true?

3.) Are AirVPN's servers dedicated or virtual?

Thank you.

No. See also https://curia.europa.eu/jcms/upload/docs/application/pdf/2016-12/cp160145en.pdf for any doubt.

2.) It says IPv6 Leak Protection is not supported. Is that true?

No, it's false.

It's not the first time that this "reviewer" posts false and potentially defamatory claims against AirVPN, and probably not in good faith as shown in the following post:

https://airvpn.org/topic/19586-a-review-on-another-site/?do=findComment&comment=48971

As you can see, the "reviewer" does not hesitate to perform low level tricks (replacing a lie with another lie, stating that a fact is "an opinion of his") when he's nailed down to his lies with incontrovertible facts.

The site also includes tons of mistakes about AirVPN, all of them damaging us, stating lower features than those that we really provide. Just to make a few examples, in the table it says that e-mail address is required (false), that we have 138 VPN servers (meaning that the web site has not been updated for a very long time, because we offer 205 servers currently) and some other "horrors" which hint to a bad combination of technical incompetence and lack of good faith.

3.) Are AirVPN's servers dedicated or virtual?

They are all dedicated servers with dedicated ports and IPMI etc. access restricted to VPN or a specific, limited pool of addresses.

Kind regards

Well that's the web. Everybody can write nonsense like this, it all comes down to whether the user can think independently or if he/ she just believes everything that's written somewhere on the internet.

Thank you for your response and clarifying this for me. It did seem like some of the information I was looking at was inaccurate or outdated (despite the website saying it was updated yesterday). Figured it was best to get it directly from the horses mouth (as the saying goes).

Thanks again!
