LZ1 673 Posted ... Hello! That's quite sad. I wonder if they're competing with the UK: http://www.zdnet.com/article/leaked-document-reveals-uk-plans-for-wider-internet-surveillance/ The UK government is planning to push greater surveillance powers that would force internet providers to monitor communications in near-realtime and install backdoor equipment to break encryption, according to a leaked document.Coupled with the Brexit ordeal and how May doesn't want to be a part of the European Court of Justice, I think we'll be losing our UK AirVPN servers in the not too distant future. whiskey_76 6 Posted ... This is all about FEAR of terrorism and CONTROL. They want to be able to control our freedom to information and expression, and monitor everything without having to deal with the rule of law. I do not believe they should be able to see what we are doing without probable cause and a warrant, but as we have seen they don't really care when they are afraid. This is why VPN's are needed just to have a basic sense of privacy in the modern age. I can see the battle over all of this getting worse and worse as the days go by and it is frightening. How long until all the governments try and shape how we think further and attempt even more influence? Russia, is a great example of a government tightening the reigns... let's see what the UK and the USA attempt to do... Quote Share this post Link to post
