Windows 10 Build 15063 DNS problem

Recommended Posts

hi everybody,

i've just tested the new 15063 version (64bit) and found out that there is a dns problem with eddie 11.15 and 12.4 (both portable).

if "check airvpn dns" is active, eddie can't confirm dns, tries it again and then reconnects to another server with the same result .....

if unchecked, eddie seems to connect, but i have no internet connection.

i found lots of dhcp-client errors in the windows report viewer regarding 10.4.0.xxx adresses.

sorry, i can't show you any logs, because i'm back to 14.393.969 right now.

anyone here having the same issue?

nice weekend

Have been running 15063 for more than a week and have no issues with Eddie 12.4 and DNS.

What I have noticed is that 10.8.0.1 started popping up as DNS - maybe you have hardcoded 10.4.0.1 somewhere and it's no longer available.

thank you, princi!

yes. i have put 10.4.0.1. in the dns section of the network adapter.

i thought, eddie would change the dns setting if needed ...

Running Win10 10563, with DNS set as 10.4.0.1 I'm getting connection issues. If I set the adaptor to automatically pickup DNS it works but it's still using 10.4.0.1.

Sorry forgot using lastest Eddie client.

thanks, Oddius.

by the way: i 've just updated to the new build. all the network settings are the same as before. and i've never had any problems with eddie so far.

i guess it's just another microsoft gimmick ....

hi!

leaving the dns settings empty solved the problem for me.

thanks again, Oddius.

Could this be related to the multi-homed DNS rubbish Windows 10 uses? Try disabling that, it's a registry setting if I recall.

Forgot to mention modifying the TAP adapter to auto pickup the DNS settings will need to be done everytime you launch Eddie,
