AsusWRT: Problem with creating profile/establishing connection

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am trying to establish a connection to the AirVPN services via my Asus DSL-AC87VG running the latest firmware (v1.00.13 build502 Mar. 6, 2017).

I followed the steps described in https://airvpn.org/asuswrt/ but it won't let me create a profile, because empty values for 'username' and 'password' are not allowed. If I enter my AirVPN credentials, it creates a profile but establishes no connection. The system protocol contains following output:

Mar 29 19:33:31 DSL-AC87VG user.notice VPN: pptp client stop
Mar 29 19:33:32 DSL-AC87VG user.notice VPN: l2tp client stop
Mar 29 19:33:32 DSL-AC87VG user.notice VPN: OpenVPN client stop
Mar 29 19:33:32 DSL-AC87VG user.notice VPN: OpenVPN client stop
Mar 29 19:33:32 DSL-AC87VG daemon.err openvpn[4397]: Options error: Unrecognized option or missing parameter(s) in /data/openvpn/client/client.ovpn:5: proto (2.3.2)
Mar 29 19:33:32 DSL-AC87VG daemon.warn openvpn[4397]: Use --help for more information.

Can someone help me or has similar issues? Thanks!

UPDATE:

I examined the imported values from the *.ovpn. The value 'Static Key (optional)' contained a comment (# #2048bit OpenVPN static key #) before the begin block. When I remove it and create a profile (incl. AirVPN credentials) the system protocol contains:

Mar 29 19:47:39 DSL-AC87VG user.notice VPN: OpenVPN client stop
Mar 29 19:49:38 DSL-AC87VG user.notice VPN: pptp client stop
Mar 29 19:49:39 DSL-AC87VG user.notice VPN: l2tp client stop
Mar 29 19:49:39 DSL-AC87VG user.notice VPN: OpenVPN client stop
Mar 29 19:49:39 DSL-AC87VG user.notice VPN: OpenVPN client stop
Mar 29 19:49:39 DSL-AC87VG daemon.err openvpn[11597]: Options error: Unrecognized option or missing parameter(s) in /data/openvpn/client/client.ovpn:26: RIVATE (2.3.2)
Mar 29 19:49:39 DSL-AC87VG daemon.warn openvpn[11597]: Use --help for more information.
