Possible to refresh the server scoring system?

On my server list, over 2/3 of the servers have 5 stars assigned, & only one has 1 star.

Would it be possible to adjust the algorithm which calculates the star rating to better distribute the servers? At the moment it's a little meaningless, as performance varies significantly between all the 5 star servers!

I usually just order by latency & go for the lowest.

 

Also, is there any detail available as to how server load/latency are weighted in calculating the score?

5 star does not mean it will always perform better than a 4 star, just like in the hotels business

There is no meaningful way to tell which server will perform better from your location, without performing speed and latency tests

*after* connecting to the server. And that will consume to much bandwidth to do it for all ~190 servers on each start of Eddie.

 

Right now the formula is described in src/Lib.Forms/Controls/ListViewServers.cs.

This is an average of 2 factors: Your ping to the server (only a basic test, your pings to other destinations could vary after connecting),

and the amount of the current and total available bandwidth on the server.

There is no other known metric to evaluate the server before connecting.
