AirVPN Problems after separating normal user and admin

Recommended Posts

As long as I was running only one account there was no problem. Now I changed the Windows setup and separated normal user for Internet using and admin account for everything else. Fist I installed under the admin account but if I want to use it from user account I get

Hello!

Doesn't right-clicking the AirVPN.exe and clicking "run as admin" work?

After installing in the admin account all users have a shortcut on the desktop - working without any need to play around / fix something

You won't get far around here by making comparisons to other VPN services in that manner I'm afraid, when their way of doing things may be completely different and perhaps also have disadvantages Air doesn't have. So it's essentially a little meaningless to say . If you like the other offerings, then by all means, you're free to use them and not use AirVPN .

I don't know if this is a bug or not - but I would try to install the experimental client to check. Did you make sure Air wasn't running on the admin account at all (check processes for openvpn.exe too), before running on the standard accounts? I don't understand why running as admin wouldn't work. But it sounds like you installed AirVPN and then separated the accounts, in which case I could imagine that's why there's a problem. Have you tried simply un-installing AirVPN from all accounts and then re-installing it? Starting with the admin account.

@LZ1

I posted that to show that is not a general account / VPN problem and now do me one fewer don't answer in my post anymore You write "It's nice to be nice to nice people" but what you are writing is not nice (I don't will tell you what I think about you)

Well I'm sorry you didn't find the way I wrote the above very nice - I thought I had phrased things in a polite manner and I definitely had no intention of insulting you. I don't feel it's fair (or too nice) to state that what I wrote wasn't nice, when you also tell me not to post and then say you don't even wish to tell me what you found not to be nice, so that I could perhaps elaborate and/or phrase things differently next time. After all, it could easily be a simple misunderstanding . I understood it as you wanted to show that it might not be an account or Avira VPN issue and thus an AirVPN one - which is quite possible, as I stated earlier, as AirVPNs software probably does things differently than Avira software. I also suggested what may fix it and it would be great if you could please provide some feedback on whether they work or not, in case other people run into the same problem - so from my perspective, I've attempted to be nice. Have a good day .

It's not an AirVPN issue, as nobody else has this problem.  Running the executable and/or the installer as an administrator was a very good suggestion for the "root access" issue.  Not having administrator privileges is one of the only things that could cause such an issue.

If you are running both the installer and the executable as an administrator, and are still receiving this error, then you have something else affecting your system policies such as:  antivirus/anti-malware/security software, company administrator policies, etc.  Something is preventing the executable from having access to something it needs to function.

Also, do you have Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 or greater installed on your machine?   Not having the correct .net framework will prevent the executable from functioning properly as well.  https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17851
