The local broadcast TV just showed "The Internet's Own Boy: The Story of Aaron Swartz" which is a striking reminder of where things have been on the Internet as the USA and world face the new regime, and agendas of the surveillance states, and the monetized Internet.

I remember reading a bit about him and the context, but so much more happened.

That was a great documentary. His story is truly a tragedy. And fuck MIT and all the other greedy info hoarders.

to say the least after watching that i was just in awe of his raw talent
especially at such a young age, in some ways he was a kid and in some ways
making real long term adult descisions, it takes a lot to walk away from large
sums of money, straight up, no way i could do that

my respects to his family and friends
