ANSWERED Eddie does not start in Fedora 24

When running in Fedora 24 the program doesn't start and I get the following message on the console.

This happens with both stable and unstable and portable versions

Any ideas as to how to fix this?

Ah wayland. It has caused problems for others too. You can check the Eddie beta thread about that, if you want to post it.
