air_is_nice 3 Posted ... Hello, Syncthing.net is a dropbox alternative that is peer-to-peer (https://github.com/syncthing/syncthing). Sometimes, when one is in an external network, it's not possible to connect peer-to-peer, so Syncthing makes use of "relay servers" (https://docs.syncthing.net/users/relaying.html and https://docs.syncthing.net/users/strelaysrv.html#strelaysrv). It would be cool if AirVPN could provide Syncthing with a few relay servers. Quote Share this post Link to post
Ernst89 11 Posted ... I have used syncthing for over a year, apart from occasional upgrade/version incompatibility problems it is a wonderful app. Are you asking for you own personal use or for the good of the whole Syncthing community? If you have a problem as an individual user running syncthing through AirVPN I think the problem is just one of forwarding a port to avoid standard NAT to NAT problems. I use Syncthing over normal network so haven't tried myself but it should work. If you are suggesting that AirVPN do so as a public service in support of Syncthing as a tool which enables personal privacy I would support this wholeheartedly. Quote Share this post Link to post

I might be wrong but it doesn't seem like they are in a big demand for new relays: http://relays.syncthing.net Currently there are ~80 relays and the total relayed traffic was 62TB since the beginning of the graph. That is less than 1TB per relay from the start and until now, which might be months. We can see big datacenters with unlimited traffic there (Hetzner,OVH,Online) so bandwidth wasn't an issue.
