Just cause 3 can't connect to online services while connected to Air

this game on steam when I try to start it while connected to several AirVPN servers it goes to the main menu and says offline mode, check your internet connection.

 

but if I try to start it over my plain connection it connects and logs in just fine. I've tried several servers but no luck

 

tried with network lock enabled and disabled, and no change. I use a security suite which has its own firewall so the network lock feature doesn't work anyway.

 

using UDP 443, I have not tried other ports/protocols.

Did you try other servers? There is a possibility that they block some servers.

If you can find out the IP address used for the online services, add it to the 'Routes' table (Preferences>Routes) to route outside the tunnel.

I've tried different servers and countries but no luck, I don't really think they block anything to be honest. the online portion of that game is just leaderboards and news.

 

I tried to add their server IPs  to the routes table and I still had the same problem. it only works when I'm entirely not connected to the VPN.
