Good software to monitor network traffic?

Recommended Posts

Hello AirVPN community,

I've only joined y'all recently, but have been pleasantly surprised at how helpful everyone is in the forums! A lot of your suggestions and posts have been invaluable in getting everything set up and working satisfactorily.

I am wondering if anyone has suggestions for software to monitor network traffic. Preferably free, but if there's not good free options, oh well. My goal in doing this is just to track what is generating traffic on my system. E.g. I know that Win 10 downloads updates in the background, and I'd like to be able to know when that is going on (since it seems that it is not possible to stop it :-(

Looking forward to your suggestions! Thanks in advance.

There. Do not grab it from a random third party site. This is a high value software for rootkits and trojans. Get it only directly from the source.

Debugging is at least twice as hard as writing the program in the first place.

So if you write your code as clever as you can possibly make it, then by definition you are not smart enough to debug it.

Hello !

Welcome to AirVPN .

Win10 can be tough to contain ^__^. It likes talking to its corporate master. I once met this guy who had contained it within a Qubes OS VM, with connections through Tor and all that. He just couldn't get it to be quiet, network-wise, so he got pretty annoyed at it haha.

Moderators do not speak on behalf of AirVPN. Only the Official Staff account does. Please also do not run Tor Exit Servers behind AirVPN, thank you.
Did you make a guide or how-to for something? Then contact me to get it listed in my new user guide's Guides Section, so that the community can find it more easily.
