Every connection attempt to this IP will end up being sent to the router and not to the computers behind it. You forward a port so that the router receiving connections to some port will pass it on, or forward, to the computer actually accepting the connection. Since P2P is based on clients talking to each other instead of talking to a central server, forwarding a port is key. foxmulder 43 Posted ... Yes, if you enable port forwarding, more peers can connect to you, which leads to better download / upload speeds.
