RDP to home computer using vpn

Is it somehow possible to connect to a computer at home with RDP?

Both the current and the home computer are inside the VPN (different servers though).

 

If so which ports do I have to open and which IP i take to connect?

It may be better to ask a windows forum about what port RDP uses.

 

It's easy to create a forwarded port with AirVPN that redirects to a different local port (RDP port). 

 

However, can you tell your remote machine to connect to a port other than the usual RDP port?  It will need to connect to the port AirVPN has opened externally.

Well, RDP by Microsoft uses TCP & UDP 3389. Check your config if it's really the port RDP uses in your case.

Software like TeamViewer which also count as RDP software in some circumstances doesn't need a port, however, in their FAQs they talk about outbound port TCP/5938 "for mobile connections".

For Phoenicis it'd be 109.163.226.153:3389. 3389 is taken, though, so you'd use some other free port but forward it to local 3389.
