Only nine of the 29 Windows VPN clients that someone tested didn't leak

Hello !

I guess all that stuff about high-standards, uncompromising security practices and openness has an effect huh? Haha!

I guess we can breathe easy then, hehe.

Moderators do not speak on behalf of AirVPN. Only the Official Staff account does. Please also do not run Tor Exit Servers behind AirVPN, thank you.

As expected. All those so called "Kill Switches" can easily lead to a false sense of security. The only way to ensure that no data package leaves your machine when not connected to a VPN, is to set up proper firewall rules. This is how AIR does it with their network lock, along with the other providers that passed the test.

Simply disabling the network interface will not suffice in case of an accidental disconnection. Kill Switches designed that way need a certain amount of time to "react" and detect that the VPN went down. During the time until the connection is re-established, your real IP has already leaked to the public and left you vulnerable.

I was using hide.me, I was a very dissatisfied customer and now I know even more of why I was. Every 24 hours they disconnect - I couldn't idle on IRC so when I kept opening tickets about it - it was as if they didn't speak English. That was the issue the entire time - to stay connected and Idle the whole time then at the very end of the messaging I decided to mention cancellation and then they tell me about the cancellation of the server connections every 24 hours. I bought a 6 month plan for 50% off and thankfully I got my fully refund. I asked online support if I could cancel at anytime and they said yes, according to the guy who issued the refund said he was making an exception because of the two week trial period being passed. Also when connecting to their servers - you browse in your server using that servers language which doesn't seem to be the case here. It doesn't have a VPN exit node either (which I don't know much about but found out at ipkeak.net). Anyway, AirVPN is supposed to be the best from what I've heard and I am a proud member but I just wish I could figure out these IRC constant connections as well!

Yeah, was on PIA for a month; they were pretty shit. Only managed to reach 80Mb/s of my 200Mb/s connection and that is if I was lucky.

AirVPN I get AT LEAST 120Mb/s on any Dutch VPN, right now at 6am I hit 199Mb/s on UDP Port 80 on Alshat. Also PIA's killswitch is a joke, it never worked and my IP leaked several times.
