Windows 10 AirVPN client not working

New member for about a week.  I downloaded AirVPN client app for Win10 and cannot connect to any server.  I connect to internet through Asus 88U router LAN wired.  

 

Please help.

Unfortunately after trying all of the solutions in your link, none worked.  In fact one of them caused my connection to go down to my PC and took about an hour to figure out how to get it connected again (internet).

 

Any other area's to look at to fix the issue.  Doesn't make sense I can run the app no problem on my MacBook Pro but when I try to connect with Win10, it doesn't work.

Your problem is a typical Windows 10 snafu especially after updates,

I uninstall AirVPN, on my wife's Win 10 device, after the update I reinstall AirVPN.

For me there has been no problem but some other still have that error.

 

Have you uninstalled AirVPN and re-installed it again?

 

Have you returned to the Windows network adapter and checked  "obtained DNS automatically".

Yes I did all of the above you mentioned.  It still can't connect.  A real bummer it doesn't "just work" like my other VPN provider client app.  I can't think of any other reason for it not to work.

Just to ad my 2 cents, this problem started for me after reading an article about W10 sending open DNS requests. The solution provided was to disable the "Smart Multi-Homed Name Resolution" in Groupseditor. After that Eddie hung on checking route. Disabling the DNS switchmode helped, but I don't know what safety problems that will cause.

Did you try installing version 9.9.2_3.exe?

I believe, but not 100% sure, router and/or windows net work adapter not properly set up.

Eddie Client can not makes changes to allow use of the servers.

Try to avoid 9.21 driver at all causes.

I am not sure how it passed regression tests, if they even had any, but given the fact that

OpenVPN project charges a substantial amount of money for it's commercial use I would

like to assume such issues would never raise. This is a major fiasco that could have been

found by a junior intern QA team with a single week effort.

I do hope they acknowledge the issue as soon as possible and fix it in the next upstream.

 

Nevertheless, it seems like the core and Windows teams in the OpenVPN project are completely

separate. This means, the way I see it at least, while the Windows team makes mistakes every

once in a while, the core project stays in a very good security and stability shape. Most of the

bugfixes were not security/stability related over the past 3 years and that means a very good thing.
