www.spritmonitor.de not reachable

Recommended Posts

Hi

There seems to be a problem with the servers located in the Netherlands and the website http://www.spritmonitor.de. As soon as I connect to an AirVPN server in another country I can reach the website. Naturally it also works if I got to the website without using AirVPN. But it does not seem to be a typical DNS problem since I can also not reach the website by it's IP.

P.S. I did not post under "Blocked websites warning" because I don't think www.spritmonitor.de is actively being blocked given it's completely uncontroversial content.

According to Check routes feature, it's true for all NL servers.

"Being blocked" is the wrong expression here. It's a fact you can't reach a site, so you should post in the appropriate subforum. Not a big deal.

If this is the wrong subforum for my thread, could a mod please move it?

The problem itself still persists. Spritmonitor.de is not reachable when connected to a server in the Netherlands.

So? AirVPN can't do anything about it..

Hm, let me think about this. A website is not reachable if I use certain AirVPN servers but the same website is perfectly reachable if I use other servers by AirVPN or connect directly to the website without using AirVPN's servers. Somewhat it looks to me as it is indeed AirVPN's who can actually do something about it. Who else would be able to do anything about it?

If a web server restricts access from a bunch of IPs, what is it AirVPN should be able to do in your opinion? Do not say "reroute traffic" because this is used for georestricting services only.

Apart from the fact that apparently you think you need  to answer on behalf of AirVPN here I don't think your attitude is very helpful. If all request were answered like you did in this thread we could as well not post at all. You are playing the IT-Guy game: "What we? No, we cannot do anything, ask them...". AirVPN can definitely do something about it. It's only a question of whether they want or not.

Idk what IT-Guy game you are refering to, and even if you think giganerd is inappropriately answering on behalf of AirVPN you need to accept this community is full of very experienced people and we know what we are talking about. If the site is blocking the IPs of the servers you are trying to go on the site with the only thing AirVPN can do is to route it through their routing servers which is for georestrictions or buy new IPs to add to the servers as exit IP. Buying new IPs for one site isn't financially sound so that is out, the routing is possible if it's not the servers but the Netherlands which is being blocked but have you tried all the Netherland servers?

There's no use in trying other servers in NL, they all belong to the same datacenter. it's very likely the IP range of the data center is temporarily locked out.

But yes, I'm of course only writing here to play an IT guy game. let me remind you of the fact you are using the community forums. If you want less stupid answers, submit a support ticket and your request will be answered by an actual member of Staff.

Once more: What is the point of having a "Blocked websites" forum if posts/ requests are turned down with: "No we cannot do anything"? And yes all NL servers are blocked.

Hello,

this is exactly the correct forum for warnings like yours. "Warn us here about websites you can't reach from our servers" is this forum description. Thank you, we'll see whether we can do something about it or not.

Kind regards

Am I selling a VPN service? Is it my job to figure out a solution? Do I employ network specialists? Am I a network specialist? Or am I the paying customer who is requesting a solution to a problem he is encountering while using the service he has paid for?

Thank you very much for your reply. Now that's what I expect when I report a problem. I don't know if AirVPN is able to do anything but at least you are willing to look into it.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Watch your words, young man, you're talking to other people. This attitude won't make you friends here.

As I wrote you once, and I hoped it would be enough, you are writing in the community forums where everyone can answer your question in whatever way they want. We don't think that you deserve first-class help, because we also are paying users, just like you.

If you want an Air-approved, Staff-only, 95% correct answer, submit a support ticket in the future.

Sorry to disappoint you but neither do I need virtual friends (I've got real ones ) nor did I come here looking for friends. I came here for help to find a solution to my technical difficulties. And I did so by posting in the very sub-forum AirVPN want's us to report problems like this (as confirmed by the above post by a staff member). I also did post my question in a polite way. I don't know about you but where I live we have a saying which translates into something like this: "A decent question deserves a decent answer". Now I really don't know what qualifies you to answer on AirVPN's behalf, especially since your answer "AirVPN cannot do anything about it", deviates drastically from the answer an actual AirVPN staff member gave me "this is exactly the correct forum for warnings like yours. "Warn us here about websites you can't reach from our servers" is this forum description. Thank you, we'll see whether we can do something about it or not." See the difference? Maybe you should ask yourself why you answer questions if apparently you don't intend to help.

Case closed for me, I'll wait if AirVPN is able to resolve the problem. Or maybe the IPs are only temporarily blocked and the issue will resolve itself.

Update on topic: For some NL servers like Alphecca routing works again. For others like Alterf and the vast majority of NL servers routing still fails.

Wow, now nearly every server can't access it. I really think it's Spritmonitor themselves doing something.

If you cling to your VPN connection, the only solution is a reroute, but the probability of the rerouting server getting blocked is as high.

... or ask them.
