htpc 9 Posted ... I just checked through DuckDuckGo and no I don't see an option regarding time this is and always has been the big issue with DDG. It's a nice concept but pretty useless without the most essential filters or "search tools" as google calls them. StartPage has the filters but as discussed earlier in this thread is only serving cached results since google shut down it's API. gotta say I'm surprised that this topic is not more present with all those tech blogs and gadget giants like wired, verge etc.also why is there no official statement from StartPage on this. do the think if they put their heads in the sand nobody will find out? hanswurst77 1 Posted ... so I'm looking at switching to duckduckgo since startpage no longer has the best results. however, I regularly use startpage's options to search based on time - last year, last week, last 24 hours, etc. is there a way to do that with duckduckgo? I just checked through DuckDuckGo and no I don't see an option regarding timeyes it's there, on top of the screen right next to the flag symbol which lets you choose your region. htpc 9 Posted ... was just about to post the exact same question with the same screenshot :-) went through all the wikis and advanced setting. there's nothing like this to be found nowhere on my side. unfortunately! a silver lining though is the commitment from DDG to add date filters to their feature set within 2016 according to their blog. fingers crossed. Staff 9972 Posted ... https://duck.co/forum/thread/1678/filter-search-results-by-date But keyword "sort:date" does not work, apparently. https://duck.co/help/features/dates This again relies on Google, it's not a solution... 4 rickjames, go558a83nk, encrypted and 1 other reacted to this Quote Share this post Link to post
hanswurst77 1 Posted ... it seems a bit strange. when i tested it at work (german ip), the dropdown did not show up; same result at home while connected to a german server. changed to ancha (netherlands) and then it was there. for some reason still showing the german flag: irgendwann = any timegestern = yesterdayletzte woche = last weekletzter monat = last month however, i do not have the time to thoroughly check if it works well. a quick check using recent football results gave the impression that it does, though. Staff 9972 Posted ... It looks like that different IP addresses cause different behavior (or access different backends, or something like that). From Netherlands VPN servers the long-awaited "time menu" is finally visible, but sometimes it does not work well and usually does not work at all. From non-NL servers, the menu seems not acccessible at all (at least at the moment of this writing). Kind regards 1 go558a83nk reacted to this Quote Share this post Link to post
