Slow uploads to Google Drive

I have a fiber optic connection, with 50Mbps in upload. Up until a week ago, more or less, I uploaded to Google Drive at pretty much full bandwidth. Recently it started to be slow, and it constantly uploads at around 18Mbps. A speedtest gives more than 40Mbps in upload and, previously, I was uploading to Drive at about 47/48 Mbps.

 

When not using AirVPN I upload at full speed, with no problem.

 

Am I the only one? What could it be?

Forgot to mention: Windows 8.1 x64, AirVPN client 2.10.3.

 

Tried using a different server (usually the client picks Netherlands server automatically no matter what). Chose a Swiss server, same thing. Chose a German server, 40Mbps upload. What the heck?
