Really, realy slow speeds. First time user.

Recommended Posts

I just signed up about 30 minutes ago, and my speeds are awful.  I have a 50mb connection (and usually reach slightly higher speeds).  I use Cox Communications, and I don't use wireless.  I do have Windows 10, for now.

I've tried using a bunch of different "best" servers.  I tried using TCP and different ports.  None of that has helped.  Other than that, I was hoping the airvpn software would do the work because I don't know much about networking.

What should I try next - and how do I do it?

It's not letting me install the older TAP driver.  It just says it was unable to install it.  I did some looking around and apparently this is a big issue on Windows 10.  The problem is that I can't seem to find one main solution and it's frustrating the hell out of me.

The one main solution is to downgrade TAP.

Reluctantly. I will change my title accordingly.

Hello

I tried many TAP drivers, the one you are telliing us to install does NOT install on Windows 10, it says it cannot replace the driver or something like that... what am I supposed to do?

Been getting crap 10 mbit MAX speeds on my 60 mbit line.

Use Revo Uninstaller to remove TAP 9.21. Helped a few users in the past, just can't find the threads currently to link them.

Windows 10 won't let you install an older TAP driver because of the enforced driver signing.  I was having very slow VPN speeds too compared to Windows 7.

I had to turn off enforced driver signing to get the 9.9.1 TAP driver to install.  Otherwise it just gives an error message.  This has helped some but I still have to hunt for a good server and the best ones for speed change daily.
