I have a Linksys N750 EA3500 router. My understanding is that i cannot use AirVPN through this router. (I do have AirVPN on my PC, but would like my entire installation protected.) So, what does it take to use VPN through my router? Is there another device i can attach? Do i need to get another router? If so, what router would you recommend that has the same capability as the N750?

Thank you.

Thank you for your reply, Cashporov. I've lost count, but i have over 20 devices hooked up to my router, including telephone, so must have something that will manage the load. On the one hand i don't want to get something that will not cope, on the other hand i don't want to over invest. The Linksys N750 EA3500 is doing just nicely, but does not support VPN. So i need an equivalent VPN modem.

Thanks again. Your PC solution sounds delicious, but i don't have the skill and it would take me too long to figure out. Based on your input i have sort of narrowed it down to Asus RT-AC55U:

or Linksys WRT AC1200L

Would they both do the trick? Which one? Any alternatives?

Thanks.

Oh dear. They seem to be priced at about $100 or $300. The next step up is a steep hill for me to climb when i don't know whether i can get the thing working. (I don't have AirVPN working on my PC yet.) Hmm, just found ASUS RT-AC68W for $172 (About $172 more than i wanted to spend as i had thought my existing router would work. Now i'm looking for someone else to blame if the thing does not work, but AirVPN are keeping a deathly silence.)

So, if anybody knows a reason why this ASUS RT-AC68W and this AirVPN should not be wed please speak now.

There is also always the possibility of loading DD-WRT or Open-WRT onto the router and using the included OpenVPN client to achieve exactly what you're looking to do. It'll encrypt all traffic, BUT the downside being that without a fairly powerful router, your overall bandwidth will suffer as it becomes resource intensive doing the encrypt/decrypt for every client.
