Very slow speed connected with AirVPN

I'm connecting my Synology DS1513+ using AirVPn port 443 UDP to US server. When i run speedtest-cli without VPN connected i get 300mb down and 180mb up. Connecting to Airvpn i get approx. 8-9mb down and the same up. I have tried multiple speedtest servers and get similar results. When I run Transmission my torrent speed seems to max out 30mb down- still a long way off my non VPN speeds. I have forwarded the appropriate port on AirVPN for Transmission incoming port.

 

My ISP is AT&T (on the Gigapower fiber plan). Any thoughts on my slow speed? I have attempted to connect through SSL (Stunnel) but couldn't figure it out.

i have the same problem with provider unitymedia. stunnel will help you. You can install it with IPKG on your Synology .

 

Make a speedtest with "wget -O /dev/null http://cachefly.cachefly.net/400mb.test" direct on ssh console.
