thork 0 Posted ... I live in the American southwest, but when I use the auto server select function to connect to the 'best' server, it keeps choosing one in Canada. Perhaps those have the least current load, but they don't have the best latency for sure for me. Plus since they are in a differnet country I was getting blocked viewing some Youtube videos that only screened for US audience.. Thanks! Quote Share this post Link to post
S.O.A. 83 Posted ... The client chooses the server based on the server load and the ping. You circumstance is similar to mine. I live much closer to many U.S. based servers that have faster pings but, the speeds for the closest and lighter used server do not always give me the fastest speeds compared to the Canadian ones. If you need a fast U.S. server just sort them by the shortest ping and connect to that server. You should be good to go then. Quote Share this post Link to post
thork 0 Posted ... Interesting.. thanks. Also on a somewhat related topic.. have you tried the speed test on airvpn.org? it shows me getting around 27MBps (with in tunnel around 90%), but when I bench it on Speedtest.net, I get around 55MBps (with vpn enabled), which is what I would expect..
