Staff 9971 Posted ... Hello! We're very glad to inform you that new important and improved features have been added to our system.New Remote Port Forwarding SystemPlease see https://airvpn.org/faq/#port_forwarding for a general explanation on Remote Port Forwarding. For each port, now the system lets you choose to forward it for TCP only, UDP only or both TCP and UDP.You can now map any local port to any remotely forwarded port. This is useful for a variety of cases, for example if your service listens to a port lower than 2048 or to an already reserved port.A security check has been implemented. It will start when your account connects. Additionally, you can force it to start by clicking on "Check". Please note that this feature can be used only if you are connected to a VPN server AND you are logged in the website with the same account. The system will perform the following tests:1) if your service is reachable on the forwarded port on the VPN server IP address;2) if your service is reachable on the local port mapped to the forwarded port on your real IP;3) if your service is reachable on the forwarded port on your real IP address. If test 1 fails, you will see a grey token (your service can't be reached, you might want to check whether it is running and listening on the correct port). If tests 1 and 2 succeed and test 3 fails, you will see a yellow token (your service is reachable on the local mapped port on your real IP address). If tests 1, 2 and 3 succeed, you will see a red token (your system is exposed to correlation attacks). If this happens, it means that you have forwarded on your router/firewall the same port you have remotely forwarded on the VPN server, and that there's a service listening to that port. Please close that port on your router/firewall to prevent correlation attacks. Your service must be reachable on that port ONLY on the VPN server IP address. If test 1 succeeds and test 2 and test 3 fail, you will see a green token (your service is reachable, security is not compromised).New option to enable, disable and delete statisticsNow you can enable, disable and delete your sessions statistics (sent and received bytes, connection time and dates). Please note that even though you enable this option, your real IP address will NOT be stored in the statistics anyway. Enabling statistics is meant merely as a commodity.Improved servers status monitorNow the servers status will display also an approximate latency time from your device to each VPN server. Please note that in order to see this new feature, you have to be a logged in as a premium member. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any further information.Kind regards 1 tugapianskie reacted to this Quote Share this post Link to post
