Problems with LTE service and AirVPN

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I am in my second year of using this service. It has been very good to excellent for most of that time. However things have changed.

My old connection was 5MbD and 2MbU and AirVPN worked great with just a small overhead, in my ASUS 68U router using Open VPN client. My ISP changed today to 25MbU 2MbD via LTE - and AirVPN will not work at all in the router. The best I have been able to do is to get Hotspot Shield to run on one windows machine directly, and the best it can do with that is 1MbD and 0.05MbU over the 25Mb LTE connection.

Does anyone know that the problem could be. The old system ran under PPPoe the new on selects an IP every time the antenna is switched on. Could this be the problem?

I am also told that many LTE systems throttle  ... but I have been assured by the provider that they do not.

I really need the VPN for my work, and would have to go back to the older system if I cannot get it to go.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated ....

Did you try changing ports, UDP/TCP protocols, different servers?

Yes I did. It made absolutely no difference. And I know that the VPN can work with LTE because they work fine with my phone (Virgin mobile/Bell LTE).

Still looking for answers - the company that provides the LTE service says that cannot answer my questions until next Tuesday!! Madness. I could use an answer before then ...
