hugomueller 13 Posted ... I am running a Linux server which should connect via airvpn to the internet. I am using the server Kitalpha. While in VPN there is no DNS resolution possible. Outside VPN it works just fine. A ping to 8.8.8.8 works finde but a ping to google.de can not resolve the hostname. The VPN log says PUSH: Received control message: 'PUSH_REPLY,redirect-gateway def1 bypass-dhcp,dhcp-option DNS 10.4.0.1,comp-lzo no,route-gateway 10.4.0.1,topology subnet, ping 10,ping-restart 60,ifconfig 10.4.2.176 255.255.0.0' Quote Share this post Link to post
Staff 10018 Posted ... Hello, can you reach 10.4.0.1 in the VPN? Are you running OpenVPN directly in your server? If so have a look here:https://airvpn.org/topic/9608-how-to-accept-dns-push-on-linux-systems-with-resolvconf If resolvconf is not a viable option for you, just take care about the DNS yourself, in /etc/resolv.conf By the way, OpenVPN logs are essential to try to understand the source of the problem, feel free to post them.
