ANSWERED Win 10 continuous loop of failed connections.

Recommended Posts

Running fine, 1 - 2 days without problem. Then all of a sudden it goes into a endless loop of failed connections. It first happened on last stable release thus the reasonI tried the experimental release.

and so on... I check the network adapters and see no tun devices available to connect to. A reboot of the OS is the only option I have left which corrects the problem until next time.

Hello,

this error:

. 2015.08.02 10:49:01 - OpenVPN > All TAP-Windows adapters on this system are currently in use.

is usually caused by a disabled tun/tap adapter. Try to re-enable it, or re-install OpenVPN.

Kind regards

TAP-Windows Adapter V9 is what is listed under adapters, shows not connected when not using `AirVPN 2.10` and connected when using it. During this recycling at attempts to connect is seems to disappear all together. Reboot and all is good again or this last time I waited about an hour and tried again and it worked. Never had to install the OpenVPN Client, just the AirVPN Client 2.9 and then upgraded to 2.10 after this problem started. Or did you mean to un-install of the AirVPN client then a fresh install of 2.10?

I know this is counter intuitive, but this is what helped.  I uninstalled airvpn, but the TAP adapter was still there.  I downloaded, and installed openvpn which installed the TAP adapter.  I uninstalled OpenVPN which removed the TAP adapter.  Rebooted, cleaned registry, and manually deleted airvpn directory.  Then I reinstalled the airvpn experimental build no boot loop for me anymore.  Now I have a DNS issue, but it never boot loops.

Hello!

It appears that Eddie 2.9.2 has various issues with Windows 10.

When you run Windows 10, we strongly recommend that you upgrade to Eddie 2.10.2 Experimental. In the usual download page please click "Other versions" then select "Experimental" to point to it. Select the proper version for your Windows edition and download it.

Eddie 2.10.2 features some important bug fixes as well from version 2.9.2.

Kind regards
