Network lock not working on win XP

Running a virtualmachine (virtualbox) with Windows XP  X32 Pro and installed the newest air client for XP x32.

 

I "need" the network lock feature to work but i keep getting this error:

 

"Unable to start Windows Firewall service. Try to switch it from 'Disabled' to 'Manual'."

 

Anyone know what could cause this?

 

I tried turning windows firewall on and off and checking "no exceptions", in other words, all the alternatives.

 

The point of this is to use the VPN for IRC in the VM alone and everything outside the VM- without VPN.

 

Is it a bug? Can it be fixed?

 

Any help really apreciated! 

 

EDIT: no additional firewall installed that could interfere with this

Did you try doing that? Start > Run > services.msc

 

 

On a side note, using IRC on Windows XP? You must have very unique hobbies.

I figured the easiest way to have mirc with the VPN was with a VM. Tried with ubuntu first but mother£$-¤#% wouldn't change screen resolution no matter what so i couldn't see shit, so I tried XP.

 

I now tried the services.msc and changed to manual. Still wont work

Network Lock is not available for Windows XP. The fact that the option is showed is a bug, fixed in the latest Eddie release for Win XP.
