[SOLVED] Intermittent Connectivity Issue with Eddie (AirVPN Client v2.9.2)

Recommended Posts

Lately I've been experiencing an issue while connected to one of the U.S. servers.  I'll not be able to connect to the internet and the AirVPN client will continuously attempt to connect to a Canadian server.  It happened to me earlier this morning.  I've attached a saved copy of the AirVPN log just after the incident occurred this morning.  I'm using Debian 8 (Jessie) 64-bit.

I have the same issue and no the problem only manifest when the Network Lock function is used. What to do?

Hello,

another test please... while disconnected from the VPN, with Network Lock off, go to "AirVPN" -> "Preferences" -> "Advanced" -> "General". Set the "Servers list update every:" combo box to "Never". Click "Save".

Then, activate Network Lock and try to connect to a VPN server. Is the connection successful? Is it stable?

If so, after you're sure that the connection is stable (for example after 30 minutes or so), go to "Servers" tab. Click the button with a white circular arrow in a green field, "Refresh the servers list". Does it cause again the problem immediately?

Can you also tell us your exact distribution name and version?

Kind regards

Hello!

Is the problem mitigated or does it remain the same if you de-activate Network Lock?

Kind regards

I didn't try that as VPN without network lock is useless IMO.  I'll try it for troubleshooting purposes.

Hello!

Could you please test and answer to the previous post? It would be an important information for us.

Hello I was having the same issue, Ubuntu 15.04 using Eddie experimental.

Disabling the update servers worked, 3hr 30min connection with 0 disconnects (longest in weeks)

I'll keep an eye on it and if it happens again will update.

Thanks Airvpn

Hello!

To all those experiencing the problem, can you please test Eddie 2.10 Experimental for Linux? It includes also a bugfix which could solve the issue.

You can download that version in the usual Linux download page. Click "Other versions" then select "Experimental".

We'll be looking forward to your feedback.

Kind regards

I just wanted to provide an update.  The second suggestion, disabling server updates, seems to be working.  However, I haven't tested for a long period of time.  I'm currently unable to even connect with Eddie v2.9.2 under Debian Unstable.  I'm going to give Eddie 2.10 a try.
