Internet Connection Sharing Failed -- Win7-WinXP -- Resolved

Hi,

 

I just resolved a problem thanks to an older post, and wanted to note it with a good descriptive title and more info for others to find in a search of the forum.

 

After installing Eddie on my Win7 comp, I was unable to access the net from my Win-XP (connected by cable to the Win7, separate nic).

I didn't follow all the instructions to the letter, but the changes I needed to make were:

 

1. Changing the shared/sharing adapter from the original (Win7 to the router) to the TAP-Windows Adapter V9 (new AirVPN connection).

 

2. Changed my DNS on the Win-XP (LAN cable connection to Win7) to 10.4.0.1 and 10.5.0.1

 

The Win-XP IP adress / Subnet mask / Default gateway were ok as is.

 

Thanks to the original poster and AirVPN staff - problem solved.
