Using UK/DE VPN to access ESPN Player

I'm attempting to access ESPN Player to signup (I don't have cable, although I'd like to still watch college football this Fall) and I have a European address/billing information I can use.

 

Using a UK/German server, I keep getting the message 'not available in your region'

 

I wonder if they've blacklisted the addresses associated with the server VPNs are located. Has anyone else attempted this?

I had an american account for itunes and in order to get the espnplayer I had to sign up for an international account in Turkey. If you need to sign up for an international account make sure in payment method scroll to bottom where you can enter none. This way once you get registered and download the player you can than cancel that itune account but still use the espn player. Be careful if using on the ipad as it is not working on it right now.
